The Self Watering Smart Pot is an innovative and educational project designed to automate the watering of plants. This kit includes an Arduino Nano, a soil moisture sensor, and a water pump, providing a hands-on experience in building an automated irrigation system. It is ideal for hobbyists, students, and DIY enthusiasts, offering a practical application of microcontrollers and sensors in real-world scenarios.
This self-watering system monitors soil moisture levels and waters plants automatically when the soil is dry. The Arduino Nano serves as the compact and powerful microcontroller that controls the system. The soil moisture sensor accurately measures the moisture content in the soil, while the water pump provides efficient and reliable watering to keep your plants healthy. The kit is easy to assemble with simple connections and clear instructions, making it straightforward for anyone to build. It is also educational, allowing users to learn about microcontrollers, sensors, and automation through hands-on experience.
Inside the box, you will find all the necessary components to build the system. The components include the Arduino Nano, the soil moisture sensor module, a 5V water pump, a 5V relay module, jumper wires for making connections, a breadboard for easy and secure wiring, and a power supply to provide power to the Arduino and the water pump.
The system works by detecting soil moisture levels using the soil moisture sensor, which sends the data to the Arduino Nano. The Arduino Nano processes the sensor data and compares it with a predefined moisture threshold. When the soil moisture level falls below the threshold, the Arduino activates the relay module, which in turn activates the water pump. The water pump runs, delivering water to the plant until the soil moisture level is adequate. Once the desired moisture level is reached, the Arduino deactivates the relay, turning off the water pump.
